This year I’ve managed to obtain level 99 Magic, which had probably been one of the most time consuming skills that I’ve ever trained. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice to sit and watch movies and TV shows whilst skilling, but it just seemed to drag and drag.

Personally, I had a year of hard study, where I learnt an assortment of new skills and can now happily program in HTML, CSS, PHP and can write applications for the Android platform, which is the pinnacle of my year. Being able to write my own applications for my phone gives me a bit of a thrill and allows me to customise my phone so it does exactly what I need it to do. I have been thinking about doing a bit of a phone upgrade (I currently have a Nexus One) to something that has a little bit more speed and can better run multiple applications without bogging down. (Any ideas on what I should upgrade to would be greatly appreciated!)
Whilst I’m talking about making new purchases in the New Year, I’m also seriously thinking about buying myself a Netbook, so that I can use it in lectures, run standard applications and play a little Runescape during classtime and during lunch/morning/afternoon tea breaks. It’s not that I can’t do this on my laptop; it’s just that my laptop is big and quite hefty. It just doesn’t suit when I want to shoot to the cafe at lunch and I have to haul this big machine around with me which will more than likely go flat, as the machine sucks so much power that it isn’t funny =P. Besides, with the low cost of Netbooks these days, how can I say no?
So what do I have planned for the New Year?
Let’s start with Runescape. Unlike the rest of you, I’m not really much of a combat person, so I’m going to continue with skilling. In 2011, I’m really only likely to obtain two level 99 skills. One of which is definitely going to have to be 99 Runecrafting. If I can achieve this skill then another 99 will prevail in the days following. There are many other skills that can be easily brought with the money that I will have made for Runecrafting. I am also thinking about possibly taking a break from the boring monotony of Runecrafting and getting 99 Woodcutting. I will possibly do this during one of my two week term breaks, as I can’t see this skill taking too long to get... (I know from previous experience that you can get up to 1M Woodcutting XP per day if you try hard enough...) With this newly acquired wealth, I also plan to buy a Santa Hat. I’ll probably purchase this mid-year when they are least wanted and hopefully at a lower cost that directly before Christmas. It’d be nice to buy a Party Hat, but I just don’t think I’ll quite have the cash for one of these.....
On a personal note for the year, I plan of getting fit this year and making a considerable change to my currently atrocious diet (Coke and chocolate for breakfast...) and start to eat fruits and vegetables. I will also be finishing my degree this year (presuming everything goes as planned) and will hopefully manage to find a job in some IT-related field at the end of it. During the course of the year, I also plan on finishing my project car (I’m making a website about it as you are reading this) and should have it painted and fully restored, ready for summer.
Anyway, I think that I have ranted and raved long enough to put you all to sleep. I hope all of you (my readers) have a safe holiday and a good New Years. I’d love to hear from you all either in the comments section below or on Twitter (twitter.com/Custard17) where you can tell me your New Years resolutions.
Happy New Years,
Adam.
