Mort’ton Shade Burning

With the addition of new Treasure Trails on Runescape, there has been a significant influx in the price of fine cloth (as this is used in the making of splitbark armour, of which the helmet is needed for one of these clues…)

So, I’ve decided that I need to get in on this ‘Get rich quick scheme’ and have started gathering fine cloth. Last night alone, I managed to sell around 600k of fine cloth, which really only took me around two hours to gather. This is a rather good profit, considering that I’m gaining considerable Prayer experience (and Firemaking, although that doesn’t really count as I already have 99….)

By Shade Burning, you will also earn a considerable amount of money by cashing in the keys. In this two hours, I’d estimate that I earned an additional 160k cash, as well as 400-500k in other items (Rune weapons, rune chains, black armour, addy armour, battlestaffs, blood & death runes, magic & yew logs) – Most of these items I’ll just high alch (as I’m working on getting 99 Magic), but I will also sell some at the GE.

For two hours work, in addition of a 1000k, gathering experience, you also manage to get clue scrolls on a regular basis. I’d say that for the two hours work, you’d get around three level 3 clue scrolls – I believe that this is a rather good rate (mind you, if I get a clue scroll, I’m not always likely to do it when I get it and will continue to cash in my keys, forfeiting more clues.)

I should also point out that to do Shade burning you need logs, shade remains, sacred olive oil. So obtaining the remains, you gather a wicked amount of combat experience, and blessing the olive oil you gather a fair amount of crafting experience.
More shade burning will occur when I get home, as I don’t know how long this increased price of fine cloth will remain, so I may as well cash-in while I can……

In other news, I have completed my story for the ‘Stellar Dawn’ competition, so *fingers crossed* it makes it to the top twenty, although I’m not really going to get my hopes up….. I might post it up here over the weekend and let you all have a read, if you’d like?
